ABOUT TCCP AND ITS MISSION.
Texas Construction Career Pathways (TCCP) offers a three-week construction apprenticeship readiness program to prepare individuals for a union registered apprenticeship with competitive pay, benefits, and growth potential.

Eligibility Requirements
High School Diploma with Transcripts or GED with Scores
Applicants can contact their high school’s registrar’s office to obtain these documents.
Reliable transportation
Access to a personal vehicle.
We want to reinforce the expectation that reliable transportation is needed at future job sites.
Ability to work in the U.S.
The TCCP program does not offer any visa sponsorship opportunity. Applicants must be able to legally work in the US at the time the program begins.

- Baptismal Record
- DD-214 Report of Transfer or Discharge Paper
- Federal, State, Local or Tribal Identification Card

- School Records or ID Cards
- Work Permit
Drug testing requirement
Applicants will be required to pass a drug test on the 2nd day of the program.
Skills & Curriculum
Comprehensive overview of the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3), which serves as a nationally recognized pre-apprenticeship training program designed to prepare individuals for success in registered apprenticeship programs and careers in the construction industry. The MC3 curriculum blends classroom instruction with hands-on experience, ensuring that participants gain the technical knowledge, safety awareness, and professional skills necessary for success in apprenticeship programs and construction careers.
The MC3 curriculum covers key foundational knowledge and hands-on skills across the following units:
- Unit 1: Introduction to the Construction Industry
- Unit 2: Tools and Materials
- Unit 3: Construction Health and Safety
- Unit 4: Blueprint Reading
- Unit 5: Basic Math for Construction
- Unit 6: Heritage of the American Worker
- Unit 7: Diversity in the Construction Industry
- Unit 8: Green Construction
- Unit 9: Financial Literacy

We have a deep working relationship with several trade unions across Houston, Austin, and the DFW metroplex and we are constantly expanding our network. There is a place for you!
We do not guarantee a job to any of our program participants. We are not here to sell you anything and that’s why you can trust us when we say that we will work to the very best of our abilities to help you secure a union apprenticeship that comes with full-time work, pay, and benefits.
Stipend amounts are discussed with applicants during the interview stage. While the stipends are not meant to completely supplement the costs of transportation, childcare, or communications, they do ease the burden substantially for many of our participants.
The Department of Labor requires every union registered apprenticeship participant to submit their high school transcripts or GED (with test scores) as part of their application process. Securing these documents can take a substantial amount of time so we ask our participants ahead of time to start that process so they have those documents in hand as soon as possible.
We highly recommend calling the high school in which you graduated to request your high school transcript. If you have a GED (with test scores) you can visit the Texas Education Agency website to look up your GED (with test scores).
The Department of Labor requires every union apprenticeship participant to submit a valid Drivers License (without restriction B) as part of the application process. In order to be aligned with these requirements, we also require a valid Drivers License (without restriction B) to apply to our program.
Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm. This is not flexible.
A criminal background does not automatically disqualify you from our program but it may limit your options to which union apprenticeships programs you are eligible for after our program.
Your trade will 100% be your own choice. We provide you all the information necessary to make your final decision including, but not limited to, application timeline, current work capacity, and apprenticeship program length.
We welcome every eligible participant to apply! Always feel free to share information about our program with your networks.
We currently accept a maximum of 25 participants per cohort.
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer our training program in Spanish. Although, we hope to do so soon!
We want to make sure that participants are as prepared as possible for the realities of working in the construction industry and that means there will very likely be jobsites that are inaccessible to those who exclusively rely on public transportation.
